I believe education is not solely about the transmission of information but rather the consideration of new information and the guidance of the mind to ask questions. I believe the teacher in a classroom should take a position closer to that of a facilitator, where their greatest purpose is to guide the students on the journey of learning and questioning the class material and the world around them.

I have a Bachelor of Arts with a major specialization in French and a double minor specialization in English and Sociology. As of this year, I am in my first year of the secondary stream Bachelor of Education program at St. Francis Xavier University. I am working toward certification in Nova Scotia to be able to teach English, Social Studies, and French.

I am very passionate about pursuing further inclusion of Treaty Education in our secondary literacy classrooms. I deeply look forward to being able to implement genuine and authentic Treaty Education into my practice as an educator.
