The development of a teacher’s professional identity can be understood through the metaphor of a narrative because their professional identity is shaped and influenced by a teacher’s ongoing journey through their professional and personal experiences.  Early career teachers begin their narrative by drawing on their lived experience and knowledge to “construct and reshape teacher knowledge and teacher identity” (Edwards & Edwards, 2017, pp. 194).
