Establishment of Safe and Equitable Learning Environments
The artifacts displayed here demonstrate my ability to create and maintain learning environments that are equitable, inclusive, and safe. Through these experiences, I have learned how to manage and organize classrooms appropriately, and build relationships with my students in ways that can respond to the learning and mental health needs, and well being, of my students.
Nova Scotia Secondary Student Association
This informative professional development session informed me in my ability to create and maintain a learning environment that is safe. There is value in fostering healthy conflict resolution to maintain healthy relationships. When students can facilitate their own conflict resolution, they are able to communicate meaingfully to maintain their relationships.

Nova Scotia Secondary Student Association
This professional development session with the Nova Scotia Secondary Student Association taught me the value of promoting resiliency within learners. The ability to build safe learning environments is important, but building a constructive learning environment is just as important. In a constructive learning environment, learners can build important skills and strengthen their core values that will be essential for their entrance into the world outside of highschool.

Positive Space Training 1
This artifact demonstrates my ability to create an equitable, diverse, and safe learning environment for my students, as referenced by outcome 3.1. The learnings from this training included evaluating definitions, unpacking experiences, and relating them to my pedagogy. I hope to use this learning to encourage my students to think about and evaluate their own identities, all the while reaffirming them.

Teaching Students in Foster Care
I included this artifact to demonstrate my ability to create a trauma-informed, culturally relevant and equitable classroom. As referenced by outcome 3.7, I hope to use my understanding of behaviour management, to be proactive and use reactive practices to accommodate students from foster care.

Creating Affirming Spaces for the 2SLGBTQIA+ Community
I included this artifact to demonstrate how I met outcomes 3.1 and 3.4 by learning how to create an inclusive, safe, and affirming classroom space for 2SLGBTQIA+ students. I hope to use my understanding of restorative approaches in the classroom to create an inclusive pedagogy to help promote a constructive learning environment that reaffirms the students' identities.

What Teachers Need to Know About Child Welfare/Foster Care
This workshop helped me understand the process that students in foster care go through and the behaviours/mindsets they might have as a result of it. In reference to outcome 3.5, I learned how to foster resiliency, socio/emotional well-being, and mental wellness within my students. As an educator, I hope to have the awareness of the difference between students to create a classroom that is trauma-informed and healing centered

Guyswork Approach to Building Brave Spaces
Building a classroom space that is safe and constructive is important for students who have no other safe space. This artifact demonstrates my ability to foster a restorative classroom space that is inclusive of different student identities. Not only does this maintain safe space for all students, but fosters a positive and healthy relationship with a learner who may be struggling.
