These artificats demonstrate my knowledge and understanding of the Nova Scotia curriculum and provincial policy documents that are relevant to my field of study (English and Social Studies). This knoweldge and understanding will help me use the curriculum and policy documents effectivey in my design of assingments and activities in lesson and unit plans.
Collaboration and Working Throughout the Tiers Towards Inclusive Education
This artifact is a representation of the achievement of outcome 2.1 from the umbrella curriculum. This professional development session informed me of the transition that is necessary when a learner moves between a Classroom Teacher and a Learning Support Teacher. This understanding will enhance my assessment practices and contribute to my lesson planning consideration, with particular attention to differentiated learning.
Giftedness Adaptation:
Checking for Understanding
This artifact is a modified lesson plan for a student with a giftedness exceptionality. To create an appropriate differentiated experience for this student, I had to become familiar with their interests. By understanding the Nova Scotia curriculum for grade 8 Social Studies and getting to know the student, I am able to make the content more relevant and engaging for the student.
