Use of Assessment to Guide Teaching and Learning

These artifacts demonstrate my knowledge of the principles of assessments - specifically, when and how to use them, how they should be interpreted, and different assessment measures and strategies for different situations.

Philosophy and Practice of
Assessment

This philosophy of assessment highlights how I will be using formative and summative assessment to not only gather vital student information but to progress student learning through the alignment of outcomes to assessment tasks.

Secondary Assessment

This artifact shows my understanding of the importance of different assessment strategies (formative and summative) and when they should be used, as referenced by outcome 6.1. I understand that formative assessment can help motivate students and guide them towards a productive struggle before they reach their summative assessment. I hope to keep engaging with new and relevant research to have a flexible assessment plan

Co-Created Rubric for Persuasive Poster
Created on November 12th, 2021

This rubric was created in collaboration with Grade 7 ELA students. The collaborative nature of this assessment tool demonstrates how I have met outcomes 6.3 and 6.4. I want to continue collaborating with my students to get them engaged and aware of their own learning outcomes

Julius Caesar Anticipation Guide

This formative assessment strategy of an anticipation guide is a teaching strategy that I employ frequently to gauge what the students feel strongly about, and what they might want to talk about the most and figure out how to engage with them.
