Practicum: A Shared Responsibility

These artifacts are obtained from my field experience as a pre-service teacher, with the permission of my students and associate teachers. These artifacts highlight the work I have done with students, but also my growing and changing practices.

Owen Ferguson
Summative Field Experience Report

This field experience report by Owen Ferguson highlights my strengths in community building, planning, scaffolding, classroom management, and different forms of engagement. I worked collaboratively with my associate teachers to improve my own practice while creating an engaging learning experience for all my students.

Ingrid Robinson
Field Observation Report

This artifact demonstrates how I have met outcome 8.1. Specifically, it shows my planning and preparation, creation of a classroom environment for conducive learning, engagement of all students, and my attention to my professional responsibilities. Next term, I hope to set harder deadlines and have clear consequences for students who do not hand in their work on time

Julius Caesar Anticipation Guide

This formative assessment strategy of an anticipation guide is a teaching strategy that I employ frequently to gauge what the students feel strongly about, and what they might want to talk about the most and figure out how to engage with them.

Ethos, Pathos, and Logos Presentation for
Grade 7 ELA

I created this presentation for my Grade 7 ELA students to help them understand the three persuasive techniques. I included this artifact because it shows the different videos, examples, and visuals I used to meet all the needs of my students, as referenced by outcome 8.2. I hope to continue to use different strategies throughout my teaching career to meet all the learning needs of my students.

Leadership 12: Global Government
Scenario 1

Students were asked to create a PSA for a new virus as their final project for global leadership. There was some hesitancy to create a situation that is very real, but the relevance of the situation only added to the learner's engagement. This artifact illustrates my ability to make assessment tasks relevant to students. To create this assignment, I worked with my students to dialogue about what they believed would work best.  In the end, I was able to create a relevant assignment that all my students could engage with.

Student Work: Poster Presentation Adaptation

I included this artifact to show how I met outcome 8.2, which states that pre-service teachers must consider different student learning needs and abilities. and outcome 8.1, which asks the consider different assessment strategies for different students. This student choose to do their poster through a digital video and still met the outcomes. I hope to continue to offer my students different mediums to express their learning
