Knowledge of Practices and Theories Related to Knowing, Responding to, and Engaging all Learners

These artifacts demonstrate my ability to be a reflective and life long learner. Specifically, through these expereinces, I have learned to adopt a flexible pedagogy that is based on my reflective practices and educational research conducted. As a result, I have grown to (and continue to) understand child and adolescent development and inclusive practices to support my students' transition through the education system.

Anthology: Unpacking Pre-Service Teachers Educational Philosophies and Pedagogies

This anthology was created with an awareness of skill in using appropriate instructional methods and models (e.g., experiential learning, cooperative learning, inquiry-based learning). Specifically, the analysis asks how intersectional competency can fit into our instructional method. With the findings of this anthology, I am able to respond to and engage all learners

Classroom Management

This paper shares many of the theories I hope to implement into my practice. Specifically, this artifact focuses on a flexible management style, what influenced it, and what I hope to accomplish with it. With this knowledge, I hope to create an inclusive space that appreciates all learners by engaging with them and responding to them in a meaningful way.

Every Student Can Learn at High Levels

This workshop built my knowledge of how we can focus on student strengths to address their learning needs. Specifically, by using specific and appropriate instructional methods that are best suited for different types of learners, we can ensure that all students can achieve at high levels.

Techsploration, Skilled Trades, and STEM

I included this artifact to demonstrate my understanding of the importance of engaging all learners, especially those that are underrepresented in certain fields, such as STEM. Although my instructional courses are specifically focused on English and Social Studies, I hope to get to know my students' interests and hopefully make them aware of the opportunities that are available to them, such as Techsploration.

Vignette Analysis

This vignette demonstrates my ability to focus on the strength of my students to address their learning needs and interests. I included this artifact to demonstrate my understanding of outcome 4.6 - specifically, to show how reflective inquiry on my experience as a learner shape my beliefs and philosophy as a pre-service teacher. I hope to continue changing this philosophy as I grow as a learner

Individual Program Plan

With my colleagues, I created an individual program plan for a student with a moderate intellectual disability. This artifact demonstrates my ability to focus on student strengths to address their learning needs. Additionally, it showcases my willingness to use assistive and adaptive technologies to support student success.
